WOW is a group for Women led by Women
First Wednesday of every month at 6:30 PM at
Illinois Institute of Technology, Rice Lake Campus
201 East Loop Road, Wheaton, Illinois
$3.00 admission fee
WOW stands for Women on Work. A group designed to help women gain career self-reliance.
Women talking to other women and answering these questions for each other:
- Where are women working?
- What are they doing?
- How did they find that job
- How are they managing to keep the job?
- How are they managing their careers and taking care of their families?
- How are they simply, managing?
No matter the age group, women need to help each other through the process of career transition. This is what the WOW group does – support, help and empathize. An empathy that says, I too, have been there, gone through what you have, and I know how it is.
WOW will help women build a network that provides specific help for career transition and career self-reliance, not just to find a job, but also to keep finding jobs.

- Thank you for a great WOW meeting last night and for the Starbucks gift card. I really appreciate it. BTW…I thought the experiment of allowing us to network after the presentation (vs. another session) and breaking up the groups by job class worked extremely well. I vote “that’s a keeper”.
- As always, you gals did an awesome job last night and I am so grateful for what you do. As they say in those commercials “Its priceless”. I brought a friend, Karen, with me last night. She is a negative nellie and I just knew introducing her to WOW would turn her attitude around. And it did. All the way home she talked about how great Wendy’s presentation was, the other women she met, and the connections she made. She has been inspired, energized, and negative nellie is gone. Yeah!
