Our Book

A Taste for Work Is Now Available!

Career Partners³ launched our new book, A Taste for Work, on October 7, 2009 at our monthly WOW meeting. What a night!

A Taste for Work combines two of life’s most basic elements-work and food. It is a best practices job search book that also talks about life, family, and food. In our minds, it is hard to separate looking for a job from eating well and taking care of yourself while you are looking for a job. A Taste for Work stems from that idea.

We think finding a job can be much like making dinner.

The book combines recipes for courses of a meal with the steps of a job search. It begins with the first course of a meal: appetizers. The first step in a job search is assessing yourself to decide what job or career you want. Then the book moves into the second course: soup. The soup course in a meal is the entry or preparation for the coming main course. We combine soup with introducing yourself to your perspective employer-resumes. The main dish is, of course, the interview. The main dish makes or breaks the whole meal. It follows, then, that the interview does the same thing to get you the job offer. Dessert is getting the offer, the right money, and landing the job.

The recipes and job search techniques are ours. They have evolved over time with our families and with our career management clients. The recipes are old-fashioned family fare; the job search techniques are best practices and cutting edge for today’s economy.

We have served the recipes to our loved ones; and we have advised job seekers with career management steps. And now, we are offering both to you.

We hope you will follow the job search steps in our book and nurture and nourish yourself with the recipes and by doing both, develop A Taste for Work.

The book is available on our special web site, www.atasteforwork.com and also on Amazon.com.
